Energy Campaign: over 20 thousand beneficiaries and 1200 hours of volunteer work

The month of May was entirely dedicated to the voluntary energy of our employees who, globally, were involved in the most diverse actions.
The Energy Campaign is one of the global actions of the EDP Volunteering that takes place every year in May. In a year when EDP Volunteering celebrates its 10th anniversary and a year still marked by the pandemic, the volunteer actions promoted in the various geographies of the group were adapted to this context and challenged employees to activate their energy in different ways.

At the end of the month, there are more than 20,500 beneficiaries from 76 NGOs around the world. About 350 volunteers participated in the 29 initiatives that were launched by the EDP Volunteer Program, which donated more than 927 working hours and 350 after-work hours to support the various causes.

Highlight in Portugal for the Energy Lessons, an action already known by EDP volunteers, which made the world of energy known to more than 3400 students and impacted more than 130 classes in 49 schools across the country.

In Spain, Brazil and several EDP Renewables countries, several initiatives were carried out that link solidarity to health, sport and well-being and challenged our volunteers to walk/run for greater causes. Altogether, more than 13,300 km were traveled, which in the case of Spain were used to respond to the food needs of 4 NGOs (Cocina Económica; Food Bank; Daseayunos Siervas de Jesús; Asociación Síndrome de Down); in Brazil, the KMs traveled by the volunteers allowed that in the second half of 2021 1,000 trees were planted through Instituto IP; and EDP Renewables, in partnership with the NGO Plant for the Planet, will support 3 projects of this organization.

Another year in which together we made a difference!

Thank you for daring to contribute your energy!
